College of Eastern Utah announces the creation of a new endowed scholarship. Thanks to the Philanthropy of International Power Agency, we are able to offer the Intermountain Power Agency Scholarship.
Intermountain Power Agency graciously gifted College of Eastern Utah with an endowment of $61,000 for the purpose of annually recognizing one student. Beginning with the fall semester 2009, one award will be granted each spring for the following fall semester in perpetuity.
According to James A. Hewlett, General Manager at IPA, the scholarship is to be given to a sophomore, majoring in the fields of Geology or Engineering, maintaining at least a "B" average. Preference will be given to those interested in the study of clean coal technology and who have shown success in their first year of study.
"Thanks to Intermountain Power Agency and their generosity, one more student will be helped to reach their educational goal," said Vice President of Advancement, Brad King.
