It only took one bad inning.
The Lady Dino softball team was hoping to regroup from their loss to North Sanpete with a win over the Emery Spartans, but just one bad inning put an end to it as the Lady Dinos lost 10-3 to Emery on Thursday afternoon.
Carbon took the lead in the game in the third. They added a run in the fourth. Emery put up two in the bottom frame to tie it.
Then the wheels fell off for the Dinos. Eight runs later they were finally out of the fifth. The Dinos cut the deficit by a run in the sixth, but that was as close as they could come to a rally.
Kelsey Cave was charged with the loss on the mound for Carbon. Britni Gustas pounded out a double. Alexis Oliver blasted a home run in the loss.
Carbon is 2-4 in region eight standings.
The Dinos have a non-region game against Desert Hills Tuesday (today) at home and then Delta is here on Thursday. The home games begin at 3:30 on the Carbon softball field.
The team also played a make-up game with Salem Hills on Monday and that story will appear in Thursday's edition of the Sun Advocate.
