The debut of the Lady Dino golf team has gone pretty well acording to Coach Kenj Otani. The squad has now played in two region matches and placed third in each.

April 2 had the Lady Dinos at Schnieter's Bluff which is a neutral region site. Juan Diego, Delta, North Sanpete and Salem Hills also took part in the meet.

April 7 had the same teams meeting up on the River Bend course that is the home of the Soaring Eagle of Juan Diego. Again the team placed third.

The Lady Dinos have two golfers in the Region 8 top 10 with their individual scores. Kelcy Otani is currently in second place and Lexi Gagon is sitting in ninth.

"These girls are awesome and amazing," remarked Coach Otani about his flegling squad. "They practice in the worst of conditions and give it their all."

The team has six members and they all travel for the varsity meets. It is a young squad consisting of one sophomore and five freshmen.

The team heads to Delta on April 23. They have a home tournament next Monday at the Carbon golf course with tee off at 2 p.m. on the front nine.

In boys golf, Carbon's Jordan Pinedo from the boy's golf team that competes in the fall was just named to the 3A All-State first team for his performance last season.
