Ex-Carbon High player Morgan Warburton goes up for a shot against some Emery players during a region game in February of 2005. A few weeks later she would lead the Lady Dinos to a state 3A basketball championship. By the time this photo was taken, colleges around the country were drooling over her abilities, but she had already signed a letter of intent to play for the University of Utah. Now, as a senior at Utah, she has been named women's basketball player of the year by the Mountain West Conference.

Carbon High graduate, Morgan Warburton, has been named Mountain West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Year for the 2008-09 season.

Warburton was also named for the third year to the all-conference team. A senior at the University of Utah, she has led the Ute women's team to a tie for the conference championship and was the scoring leader in the conference.

In her four years at the U Warburton set a new record for career free throws, 413, and a new record for consecutive games for scoring in double figures, 54.

The Lady Utes will be shooting for the league's tournament title in action at Las Vegas, Nev. this
