Comments solicited on Gentry Mountain grazing

The Price-Ferron ranger district is proposing to continue to reauthorize cattle grazing on the Gentry Mountain allotment by issuance of term permits.

The allotment mostly lies on Gentry Mountain approximately 10 miles west of Huntington. It includes the lower half on Huntington Canyon and adjacent side canyons.

The purpose and need for the project is to comply with the 1995 Rescissions Act.

The primary focus of theauthority is to complete NEPA on all allotments addressed in the rescissions schedule by 2010, according to the ranger district.

The public is invited to comment on the proposed action. The decision is subject to appeal pursuant to Forest Service regulations 36 CFR 215.

Only those who submit timely comments during this comment period will be accepted as potential appellants. Comments can be either oral or written in response to this project and received by February 13. Each individual or representative from each organization, submitting comments must either sign the comments or otherwise verify identity in order to attain appeal eligibility. Comments received, including names and addresses of those who comment, will be considered part of the public record for this project and will be available for public inspection. Comments should include the information required pursuant to 36 CFR 215.6(a)(3), as published in the Federal Register on June 4, 2003.
