The CEU Men traveled down to Yuma on Jan. 2nd to play in the Wells Fargo Classic. CEU remained on a roll and obtained its 13th and 14th straight win without a loss. Their first victim was Central Arizona College 71-61. Then on Jan 3rd CEU took on top 20 ranked Western Arizona College. A fourteen point win over 14th ranked Western Arizona gave the Eagles their 14th stright victory.

The final score was CEU 72 WAC 58. Against CAC, Darington Hobson scored 22 points and grabs 14 rebounds for yet another double/double performance. Aaron England scored 12 points. Phillip Thomas (Tree) scored 11 points and went 5 of 5 from the free throw line. Coach Craig's comments about the game showed his feelings about his team's performance, "No matter the outcome of tomorrow night's game I will be pleased with the preseason effort of this year's team. We will be prepared for next week's conference opener against North Idaho."

After another stellar performance on Saturday he didn't need to add much, "We defended really well, holding Western Arizona to just 58 points."

Hobson again led the team by scoring 18 points. Mike Scott added 14 to the total. England and Thomas almost repeated their output from the night before with 11 points each.

The Eagles will begin conference play with a home game against Northern Idaho on Friday Jan 9 th as they take to the floor at 7:30 p.m.
