Mary Frances Estey Anglesey
PRICE - Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary Frances Estey Anglesey, 85, passed away Dec. 2, 2008 at the Heirloom Inn Retirement Home in Price.
Mary was born Oct. 3, 1923 in Birmingham, Ala., to George F. Estey and Ruby Bibb Estey. She spent her childhood in Alabama and attended Brigham Young University, where she studied drama.
On Jan. 19, 1943, she married Walter Merle Anglesey in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She lived in Alabama during World War II while her husband was in the service.
Later, they moved to Pocatello, Idaho, and then lived in Blackfoot, Idaho, for many years.
After retirement, they moved to Salt Lake City to be near their children. Her husband, Merle, passed away on June 12, 2001 and Mary later moved to Price to be near her daughter, Gayann Norton.
Mary was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings, including Relief Society president and stake and ward drama director.
She was very talented in public speaking, directing plays and giving dramatic readings.
She served in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple with her husband for several years.
She enjoyed having her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren come to visit and she made the holidays a very special time for her family.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a son, Jim Anglesey. Survivors include her sister, Joy (Don) Fife, Atlanta, Ga.; son, Don E. (Carolee) Anglesey, West Valley City; daughter, Jane (Scott) Johnson, Charleston, W.Va.; daughter Gayann (Jim) Norton, Price; and daughter-in-law, Theresa Ellis, Eden. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Heirloom Inn Retirement Home and Rocky Mountain Hospice for their kind and considerate care of mother the last part of her life.
A viewing will be Saturday, Dec. 6, from 6 to 7: p.m. at Fausett Mortuary, 680 E. 100 South, Price. Funeral service will be Monday, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m. at the Murray South LDS Stake Center, 5735 South Fashion Boulevard. A viewing will be one hour prior to the service at the stake center. Interment will be in the Murray City Cemetery.
