The Carbon High golf team continued its winning ways when they competed in a region golf match Thursday, August 21 at Millsite Golf Course in Emery County.
The Dino's score of 324 was five shots ahead of second place Salem Hills and gives the Dinos a 17 shot lead overall after two region matches.
Other team scores were Salem Hills-329, Emery-345, North Sanpete-353, Juan Diego-357, and Delta-362.
The Dinos leading scorer was Jordan Pinedo who finished the day with a 73 and had the best individual score for the entire match.
Corbin Black finished with a 77 and took third place overall in the individual race.
Jaren McCourt, a ninth grader, had an 85 and Gage Bigelow shot 89 to finish off the scoring for Carbon.
Justin Child finished with a 90, Josh Erramouspe had a 91, Geoff Vogel scored a 92 and Josh Greenwood had a 98.
The Dinos next match will be on Aug. 28 in Delta.
"The team players hope to continue winning and are trying to defend the region title they won last year," said coach Tony Pinedo.
The match on Thursday will begin at noon.
