Barracudas rock Richfield

On June 28, the Castle Valley Barracudas traveled to Richfield to compete with a short roster of only 13 swimmers.

And even though Richfield has a huge team of 40 swimmers, the local team placed well, according to head coach Kamra Davis.

Alisann Heath captured first place in the 50 meter freestyle, first in the 25 meter butterfly, first in the 25 meter back stroke and second in the 100 meter individual medley (IM).

Jessie Alexander brought home third in the 50 meter freestyle, fourth in the 25 meter butterfly, second in the 25 meter back stroke, fourth in the 100 meter IM and second in the 25 meter breast stroke.

Abby Alexander took fourth in the 50 meter freestyle, second in the 25 meter butterfly, third in the 25 meter back stroke, third in the 100 meter IM and fourth in the 25 meter breast stroke.

Annika Hansen swam hard to garner third in the 50 meter freestyle, second in the 50 meter butterfly, second in the 50 meter back stroke , third in the 100 meter IM and fifth in the 50 meter breast stroke.

Dakota Noyes was seventh in the 50 meter freestyle and seventh in the 50 meter breast stroke.

Danni Noyes took 11th in the 50 meter freestyle and fourth in the 50 meter butterfly.

Heidi Prettyman took 12th in the 50 meter freestyle, fifth in the 50 meter butterfly, ninth in the 50 meter back stroke and third in the 50 meter breast stroke.

Jefferson Beatty took fifth in the 50 meter freestyle, fourth in the 50 meter backstroke and second in the 50 meter breast stroke.

Jill Malone took first in the 100 meter freestyle, first in the 100 meter backstroke and second in the 100 meter IM.

Lance Riche took home second in the 100 meter free style and first in the 100 meter breast stroke.

Krissa Beatty, was first in the 100 meter free style, first in the 100 meter back stroke and first in the 100 meter IM.

Ryan Slane brought home third in the 100 meter free style, second in the 100 meter IM and second in the 100 meter breast stroke.

Randy Slane was fourth in the 100 meter free style, second in the 509 meter butterfly, second in the 100 meter back stroke and third in the 100 meter breast stroke.

"Our team did a great job," said Davis.

The Barracudas competed at home on July 5 against the Salina Stingrays. The squad also compted July 8 against the Vernal Vipers and Moab Sundevils.

Results are still coming in and the Barracudas are still improving on their times, said Davis.
