Good week for boys from Price

Price American Legion team recovered from their long weekend of games and came up with three out of four wins last week. Last Wednesday, July 2 they played host to Evanston, Wyo. Coming out strong, they bear them in the top of their double-header 14-10. They let game two slip away with Evanston topping them 9-6.

On Sunday the team traveled north and beat Rock Springs 8-5 and then went on and knocked off Evanston 11-9.

Starting things off last week with the Wednesday home stand, Johnathann Garcia took the mound for Price. He went three innings and allowed four hits and for runs. Neto Pacheco was the closer for the night.

Even with 14 runs scored, the Price team made their mark with a lot of singles. Doubles by Tyson Damron and Max Misner were the only extra base hits on the night. Pacheco had four RBI's and TJ Cartwright drove in three.

Joe Mckinnon took the mound for game two. He went four innings, allowing seven runs on five hits. Pacheco came on in relief and gave up another five hit. This time it only translated to a pair of runs for Evanston.

Misner was the hot hand at the plate with a triple, a double and a pair of RBI's. Levi Graff had the only other RBI on the night for Price.

After a few days off for the holiday, Price went back to work with a trip up north to take on Rock Springs. Graff was on the hill and went four innings. He only gave up three runs on five hits. Garcia took over as reliever and shut Rock Springs down to only one more run.

CJ Wilson homered for Price and had four RBI's in the game. Dorian Scoville added a double to the winning effort.

To wrap up the weeks games, Price took on Evanston one more time and came away the winner of their match-ups.

Coach Ellington used many pitchers to get the job done. JD Grasso gave up five runs in his two innings on the mound. Then Mckinnon, Damron, and Pacheco threw off the mound and held the game in check for the offense to do its job.

Graff drove in three RBI's on the night. Garcia had a three bagger and a pair of RBIs. Damron added a double and an RBI to lead the offense over Evanston to get the win.

Next up for the Price boys is a double header her in Price against Vernal. Game times start at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday at the Carlson Colosimo field.
