Carbon School District will host the area's annual science fair in the Mont Harmon Junior High gymnasium on Jan. 17 and Jan. 18.
Displays of the science projects from students from all schools entered will be on exhibit in the junior high's gym on Thursday afternoon.
Judging is scheduled to take place at 5 p.m.
The projects will also be on display on Friday afternoon. Friday evening, an awards ceremony will take place as well.
For additional information on the event, Carbon County residents may contact Mont Harmon Junior High School at 637-0510.
Carbon High administration has made the decision to lock all outside doors, except the front entrance, on the building after 8:30 a.m. on school days.
The purpose behind the decision is to protect students and staff from potential problems that could occur from outside sources.
During school hours, people must enter through the front door and go directly to the office to get a visitors pass.
The move to the security system at the school was recently implemented and is already in effect.
Residents with questions regarding the security plan may contact Carbon High at 637-2463.
The Carbon County Chamber of Commerce will hosts the organization's annual board installation banquet on Jan. 24 at the Holiday Inn in Price.
All chamber members and guests from the Carbon County community are encouraged to plan on attending the banquet.
Each year, the chamber presents the banquet to show appreciation to the people who have served the community and the individuals who will be working to help the Carbon County area grow economically in the coming year.
Residents interested in attending the event may contact the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce's executive director, Ann Evans, at 637-2788.
