The North Springs Gun Range will be having a grand opening celebration on May 19. The event will feature a ribbon cutting, entertainment, event demonstrations along with a tour of the facilities. Lunch will also be available that day. Congressman Jim Matheson will also be present for the event. The state-of-the-art gun range will be the newest addition to shooting facilities in the state, and by some estimates, by far the best. It features a long range, a pistol range, an archery range and a unique cowboy town called Castle Gate. The event will be open to the public.

A move to switch that control over to the Arts Council is up for proposal.
