Price has been named a Tree City USA community by the National Arbor Day Foundation.
The city has earned the nationwide award for the seven years.
Price met four standards to garner the national recognition.
The standards included maintaining a tree board or department, having a tree care ordinance, conducting a comprehensive community forestry program and demonstrating an annual Arbor Day observance.
The United States Internal Revenue Service reminds Carbon County residents that 2006 federal tax returns must be filed no later than April 17. The deadline applies to payment of 2006 federal taxes.
Even with the extra time, taxpayers can skip the last minute rush by filing as early as possible, noted the IRS.
The federal agency's Web site has additional details on electronic filing and payment options along with links to companies providing the related services.
Local residents may access the site at Web IRS.gov.
During Sunnyside's last council meeting, local officials were addressed by Questar Pipeline representative Tim Blackham concerning the use of city water for an ongoing company project.
Blackham requested the use of water from the Grassy Trail Reservoir for dust suppression during the construction of the natural gas pipeline running from Soldier Creek mine to the Uintah Basin.
Sunnyside supported the water purchase, contingent upon East Carbon's approval and a consensus on price.
