The Carbon High Swim team headed north to the Tooele invitational meet last weekend. In an 11 team even, The Carbon boys' team placed 10th. It was a combination of 3, 4 and 5A schools competing so Carbon was one of the smaller schools there.

The boys were led by Thomas Peterson. He took sixth in the 100 fly. He competed against 19 others in the event. He followed that with placing seventh out of 78 swimmers in the 50 free. In a field of 65, Leo Yu placed 6th in the 100 free.

Other Carbon swimmers who helped out the team were Terrance Henrie, Kaeden Kulow, Robert Lowe, Talmage Nielsen, Jed Prettyman, Matt Sartori, and Jordan Nelson. The squad had several freshmen who also competed in the meet. They included Tim Nielson, Dallen Garvin, Brody Jackman, Toby Prettyman, Jordan Bigelow, and Matthew Pierucci.

The girls' team was again led by April Sorenson. She had help from Amanda Ewan and Liz Kobe. The girls also had many freshman swimmers on their young team. These included Zoe Hume, Megan Garff, Nannie Lowe, Chrissy Cox and Cherokee Sartori.

Coach Cox was pleased with her team's performances against the much larger schools. "Most of the Carbon swimmers sported personal best times," she reported.
