The roof at Mont Harmon Junior High will be replaced in the foreseeable future as a company is presently designing a new one for the building. Carbon School District maintenance director Deon Kone says that with any type of major construction on buildings these days the Federal Emergency Management Administration requires that buildings have seismic studies done on them to see how the new construction will impact the building. In the case of Mont Harmon, the roof now needs to be designed as an integral part of the structure to attach to the walls. This will enhance the structure's integrity during a seismic event.
