Early arrivals at the Helper Arts Festival study one of the bronze statues at the Sculpture Walk that displayed the works of Gary Prazen and Danny Blanton. Other exhibits featured oil and watercolor paintings, youth art competition and a car show. Music was nearly non-stop for the three-day festival as local groups performed in the small park on Main Street. Something new this year was a reading of the award-winning play, Santa Maria, Save Us, by Bianca Dumas in the Rio Theatre. The play was based on the experiences of early 1900s immigrants to Carbon County. Artists from in and out of state sold their original works in booths that filled Main Street. Major funding for this year's festival came from the Castle Country Travel Region and the George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Foundation, along with a host of local community sponsors.
