2014 Carbon County Journal stories wanted - The Carbon County Historical Society is currently looking for and accepting articles, stories and pictures for the 2014 Carbon County Journal. FAFSSO - is a support group for Family and Friends of Same Sex Oriented individuals. This group meets to provide a supportive community and safe haven for families and friends who are struggling with concerns and questions about gay, lesbian, transgender, bisexual issues that loved ones are experiencing. Join us to talk with others who have already gone through what you are going through. We meet at the USU/College of Eastern Utah on the third Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the board room of the Jennifer Leavitt student center. All are welcome. Carbon County Triad - meets the first Wednesday of the month at 1:30 p.m. at the Price public safety dispatch center.Members focus on law enforcement and aging programs to assist the elderly.

Women's cancer screening - Women 50 years of age or older may qualify for free breast and cervical cancer exams and mammograms. Women ages 40 to 49 may qualify for a low-cost exam.For information, call the public health district at 637-3671.

Free legal clinics - Utah Legal Services has scheduled free clinics the second and fourth Monday of the month from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the 7th District Court complex, located at 149 East 100 South in Price. Residents should bring all pertinent documents pertaining to legal questions. For information and appointments, contact the agency toll-free at 1-800-662-1563.

Carbon County Animal Shelter - AVID chip pet identification is available at the shelter. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
