Melvin and Joan Gilbert

Melvin and Joan Oborn Gilbert were married June 16, 1948 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Melvin was raised in Riverton and Joan was raised in Midvale. They were residents of Riverton, where they farmed for almost 50 years. In 1997 they moved to Huntington to pursue their love of farming. They have farmed all their married life, but they feel their real success is their family.

Parents of nine children (six living), 21 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

In their honor an open house will be held on Saturday, June 15 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the LDS Ward House at 115 S. 400 E., in Huntington. No gifts please.
