Guardsman returns to Carbon County after active duty in Iraq

Doug Parsons looks at family and friends as he arrives at the junction of U.S. 6 and SR-123 on Sunday. Parsons returned Nov. 12 from a 15-month tour of duty with the 144th Area Support Medical Company of the Utah National Guard in Iraq. Parsons is a soldier, a registered nurse and a member of the Sunnyside City Council. According to his children, the deployment will be the 54-year-old's last tour of duty.
