This monument at the Emma Park Flats on Highway 191 honors former Governor Simon Bamberger. It was put up in 1918 by inmates who were building the Duchesne-Castle Gate Road at the time. Bamberger, who was not always loved by Carbon residents, was governor of Utah from 1917-1920.
