CEU's Maren Erickson goes up to block the spike of a SLCC player during a recent game at the BDAC.

The College of Eastern Utah's women's volleyball team is winding down their season still looking for their first win in conference play.

And this past weekend's action did not give them that satisfaction.

Being on the road makes a tough season even tougher and the Eagles are on the road for the rest of the schedule.

So off to Salt Lake they headed on Oct. 26. The team had forced Salt Lake Community College to four games in a match earlier this season, but not this time. SLCC swept the Eagles in three games.

The squad's kill to error ration was below .000 for the series. They were just not able to mount any kind of offensive attack.

Former Carbon High player Jamie King had the best stats on the evening with a .179 percent. She had five kills and only two errors on the night.

The team went down 19-30, 16-30, and 22-30. They will not meet up with SLCC again during regular season play.

The squad then headed up to Couer d' Alene, Idaho for their final match up with Northern Idaho. CEU came out strong in the first game and got their offense rolling. Maren Erickson and Karina Roch led the way with 13 kills between them. Despite the effort however, CEU could not get past the conference powerhouse and they lost the first game 26-30.

NIC got their game rolling and quickly downed the Eagles 15-30 in each of the next two games.

That loss leaves the Eagles 0-10 in conference play. They have a 7-23 record overall with only two games against Snow left before the SWAC conference tournament.

The team will meet up with Snow in Ephraim this Friday and Saturday.
