Editor:

In fiscal year 2006 the state of Utah had a budget surplus of $380 million, making it the second consecutive year of a record setting amount of revenue collected.

At the first quarter ending, fiscal year 2007 is shaping up to be yet another record setter.

This raises some questions. Why isn't more of Highway 6 being widened? Why is there no commitment to widen Highway 6 full length as was recommended in the Federal Highway Administrations record of decision?

Have we forgotten what happened on Highway 6 in 2005?

Is this going to be passed on to yet another administration with continued skyrocketing highway construction costs?
