Juan Diego hands Carbon another defeat in Draper

Carbon's defense has had some good moments in games this year, but against Juan Diego they gave up the most points scored on them this season.

It rained all over the state on Friday, making playing conditions for high school football perilous at best. But for Carbon, they hoped the wet weather would slow down the powerful Juan Diego offense as the Dinos traveled to Draper to face the private school.

Unfortunately it kept raining, and raining and raining, and in that spot just off I-15 where the game played it rained Screaming Eagle points as they took apart the Carbon defense and smothered the Dinos offense in a 62-0 win.

Juan Diego is tied with Delta for first place in Region 8. The Dinos sit at the bottom. It would have been an upset of the year if the Dinos could have gone in and won, but it was not to be.

With Juan Diego snatching up an early Carbon fumble and running it in for the first score of the night, the writing was on the wall. Sixty two points later, all scored by Juan Diego, and Carbon took home another crushing loss.

Juan Diego put 35 points on the board in the first quarter and another 21 in the second to seal the deal before the half time break. Struggling to know where the offense or defense has gone, Coach Salisbury was unavailable for comment.

Now the team comes home for it's final two games of the season as they face Hurricane in a non league contest this Wednesday on the Dino field. The game is being played early because of the UEA break. The Tigers are 2-2 in Region 9 and 3-5 overall.

Next week the team plays it's final game of the season, taking on the North Sanpete Hawks on the Carbon field. Both Carbon and the Hawks have 0-3 records in the league with North Sanpete having won one game in non-league play standing at 1-6.
