Last week, the north pedestrian underpass in Helper under U.S. Highway 6 was closed while construction crews worked on the new Helper interchange. According to Utah Department of Transportation, the transit tunnel is once again open, but may be intermittently closed during the construction scheduled for completion in 2007. If it is closed, pedestrians should use the southern tunnel on Hill Street to cross the highway. A second alternate is planned for construction near the North Main Street crossing where Hardscrabble Creek crosses the highway.
