Helper police and Utah Highway Patrol assist the passenger and driver of a vehicle reportedly involved in a single-vehicle accident on Tuesday afternoon on U.S. Highway 6 west of the Carbon power plant. An ambulance was not dispatched to the scene, and police on the scene reported that the occupants of the vehicle were relatively unharmed. The curve where the incident occurred has been recognized as an area prone to accidents, with multiple accidents near the same location reported in recent months. Roads were damp at the time of the accident, which may have contributed to the vehicle leaving the roadway. Hot summer temperatures often bring oils in roads to the surface. Even light rain can combine with oils from the pavement to create a slick surface where a driver can easily lose control of a vehicle.
