Utah Highway Patrol troopers inspect a vehicle reportedly involved in an afternoon traffic accident on June 30. According to UHP troopers, the driver of the vehicle apparently lost control of the car south of Helper on U.S. Highway 6 when he blacked out as a result of a head injury the male subject purportedly sustained the day before. A male passenger riding in the vehicle allegedly fled the scene after the mishap occurred and was escorted back by law enforcement. Officers indicated there was an open container of alcohol in the vehicle and the passenger appeared to have been drinking. The individual claiming to be the driver of the vehicle reportedly showed no signs of intoxication.
