Rain Contributed to Accident, Hazmat Spill on Highway 6, Confirm Officials

Crews attempt to clear wreckage from U.S. Highway 6 near milepost 229 Friday. Just after 3 p.m., police, fire, ambulance and county HAZMAT crews were dispatched to the scene, where a semi had reportedly crashed into the canyon wall. The cab of the truck was severley damaged and HAZMAT crews responded to possible leaking diesel fuel. The driver of the truck was transported to Castleview Hospital for minor injuries. The road was closed for just under two hours while crews cleared the road.
