The incident purportedly occurred after a motorist stopped on the shoulder of the highway to inspect a tire on the driver side of a pickup truck hauling a trailer. Utah Highway Patrol troopers responding to the scene indicated that a white vehicle passing the truck reportedly struck one of the individuals, who was described as a 30-year-old male subject.
