Rantings and Ravings
I am grouchy today.
I will probably be grouchy for a few more days as I try to adjust to this time change. I haven't spoken to anyone who likes it. Of course when you read this I will have had a week or two to adjust.
I guess we have more sunlight in the evening to do the things we like to do, but I do not really see an advantage of going through this process of realigning our internal clocks twice a year.
Arizona has enough daylight that it doesn't bother to save it. They seem to be functioning okay. Our congress, though, feels like we don't save enough daylight and has voted to extend daylight saving time in a few years.
I just changed the clock in my car a few weeks ago. Now I am an hour off again. It takes me a long time to change the clock there. I think about it when I drive, but I found out the hard way that it's not a good idea to do it while driving.
So since I either drive the car or ride in the truck, I forget about the clock. Sometime this summer we will probably take a vacation where I will be a passenger in the car and then I will try to remember how to change the time.
I felt for the teachers this past week. Not only are they dragging trying to adjust to the change, but if their class is as tired as my granddaughter is then woo wee!
Usually she is a bit slow to get up, but this week I can't pry her out of bed with a crowbar. Even then we have tears every 20 minutes or so.
Last fall we had to go through days of the kids getting up at 5:30 a.m. and then trying to go to sleep at 6:30 p.m.
Can't we find a time and just stick to it? Maybe we could compromise and set the clocks a half hour ahead and leave them. Probably too weird of a concept to gain any real acceptance, but it's worth throwing out there.
Anyway in a few weeks we will all be adjusted to this and I will be on to bigger and better things to complain about.
Until then its best to stay out of my way.
