Lady Dino softball team suffers loss

There is no defense for a walk. That was the comment from an observer to the 15-0 loss that the Carbon High softball team suffered last Thursday.

Uintah dominated the game with runs in each of the five innings played. They broke the game wide open in the second with an eight-run explosion that doomed the Dinos.

Uintah was able to score its 15 runs on only 12 hits as the Carbon girls went hitless. The Dinos defense committed four errors.

Carbon lost most of its starting pitching to graduation last year so this will be a rebuilding year in its rotation. The team will travel to meet up with Grand High School on the March 21.

The game against Grand is not expected be an easy one for the Dinos because Grand is ranked first in region 12.
