Fire, HAZMAT and law enforcement personnel discuss the situation generated by a tractor rig's loss of a trailer by Walkers near the junction of U.S. 6 and Soldier Creek Road on March 13. The incident reportedly started slightly before noon on Wednesday when a 40-foot trailer filled with ammonia nitrate reportedly disconnected and came down across the highway as the semi attempted to exit the truck stop. After arriving at the traffic accident scene, the authorities determined that the material could be explosive and, within an hour, officials had evacuated Walkers and surrounding homes until crews could move the trailer. U.S. Highway 6 was reopened at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
