Black ribbon connects neighboring counties

A black, but frosty, ribbon of pavement connects Eccles Canyon on the Carbon-Emery County line with Flat Canyon near Electric Lake. This snowy scene is repeated year after year as the lonely road flows between the alpine hills in northwestern Emery County. The road is used by many for recreation, for others it is a travel route for work at the nearby mines.
