Brush fire threatens structures, property owners urged to be cautious

Firefighters responded to reports of a brush fire just south of Grogg's and Country Lanes in Carbonville on Tuesday. Crews quickly controlled the blaze, protecting homes located within a few hundred yards. While winter weather helps reduce the chances of such fires, just a few days of warmer weather without snowfall can expose dry brush that can ignite quickly.
