Bud is married to Barbara Austin and the couple have four daughters. He also has one daughter by a previous marriage.
Bud's children are LaDonna Halch, Jessie Hopper, Barbie (Steve) Hopper, LaRie (Jody) Wagner and Nicki.
He has 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
