Collision on Highway 6 claims life of West Valley man

The cab of a semi-truck sits on the crushed frame of a Honda Civic after a collision on U.S. Highway 6 at approximately 5:15 p.m. Friday afternoon. Reports indicate that the driver of the passenger car was traveling westbound on Highway 6 when his car swerved in front of the semi-truck. Police reported that Nuno A. Lima Pereira, a 26-year-old West Valley City resident was killed in the accident. After the wet weather hit on Friday, Pereira was one of six fatalities on Utah highways over the weekend.
