Flu clinic available for individuals at high-risk
Flu vaccine, which is shipped in phases, has arrived at Southeastern Utah District Health Department.
High risk individuals will be able to get a flu shot on Oct. 11 and 12 at 28 S. 100 East in Price. The clinics will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The cost is $21, but the health department can bill Medicare, Medicaid, PEHP, DMBA, Mailhandlers, CHIP, Molina and Altius. Individuals must present their insurance cards at the time of service.
David Cunningham, health officer for the department said flu vaccine will be available to high-risk people only until after Oct. 23.
High risk individuals, including children six to 23 months old, anyone 65 years or older, people with chronic health problems or weakened immune systems, women who will be pregnant during the flu season, health care workers providing direct patient care and out-of-home caregivers of infants six months and younger.
"We are working hard to provide this much needed service for people wanting the vaccine. This year we are anticipating an adequate supply of flu vaccine," reported Cunningham. "If you want a flu shot please be patient and know we are doing all we can to meet your needs."
