On Sept. 7, a detective with the Carbon County Sheriff's Office was conducting an investigation into a complaint involving missing copper in the local area.

During the course of the investigation, a suspect vehicle was located by Detective Roger Taylor at a private residence in south Price.

Several subjects of interest identified in connection with the missing copper investigation were subsequently located inside the residence of Donald Pasborg, indicated the county sheriff's office.

After a brief interview with the suspects, law enforcement officials placed Cody Hardman and Kristy Berneche under arrest on felony theft, criminal trespass, possession of burglary tools and unlawful possession/use of a controlled substance charges.

With the assistance of Carbon Metro Drug Task Force and Utah Department of Corrections adult probation officers, more than two ounces of suspected methamphetamine were reportedly discovered in the Pasborg residence, noted a statement issued by the county law enforcement department.

The street value of the suspected methamphetamine was estimated at $5,000.

In addition to the suspected illicit controlled substance, investigators located various items reported as missing in connection with several local burglary incidents at the Pasborg residence, indicated the county sheriff's office.

Pasborg was subsequently arrested on possession of/with the intent to distribute a controlled substance, possession/use of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of prescription medication and possession of stolen property charges.

In connection with a separate investigation, agents from the Carbon Metro Drug Task Force conducted an undercover operation and seized three ounces of suspected methamphetamine on Sept. 9.

The week-long underground operation was conducted with the assistance from the Price City Police Department and the Carbon County Sheriff's Office.

The street value of the suspected methamphetamine was estimated at $7,000, pointed out the statement issued by the county sheriff's office.

Due to the teamwork of the agencies involved in the two incidents and assistance from citizens, a significant amount of suspected methamphetamine was removed from the community and several burglary suspects were apprehended, concluded the county sheriff's office.
