Popular drummer to visit local area

Local students are in for a treat Oct. 3-14. Drummer Fred "Baba" Simpson will be in the area as an Artist in Residence. Simpson is a teacher of West African and Congolese drumming. He and the students will present a drum concert in partnership with the Culture Connection at 7:30 in the Civic Center at the end of his residency.
