The Carbon High girl's volleyball team is staying on top this season after two winning matches against Park City and Wasatch. The Lady Dinos are holding strong at number one in the region.
Carbon first went up against and demolished Park City on Aug. 31 in an away game.
Carbon had no problem showing the Park City team who was better when the Lady Dinos defeated the Lady Miners in all three games played.
The first game between the two teams was pretty close, both teams keeping pretty even on points. Carbon slipped ahead early and held on to their lead, ending the game 25-18.
The second game was even better for Carbon when they took a demanding lead on Park City and almost doubled the Lady Miners' score, 25-13.
Game three was another close game, but Carbon pulled ahead, winning 25-18 and taking the win for the night.
Carbon then went up against Wasatch on Sept. 6 in another away game. The Lady Dinos demolished the Wasps by winning all three games played.
The first match up between the Wasatch and Carbon teams looked to go either way while the Lady Dinos held on to a close lead over the Wasps.
Carbon pulled ahead and defeated the Wasps in this game by just a three point lead, 25-22.
Game two was even better. The Lady Dinos jumped to an early and strong lead against the Wasps and quickly ended the game with a huge lead, 25-12.
Game three was another close one but not as close as game one. Carbon kept a slight lead and ended the game ahead by seven points, 25-18.
Jamie King took the lead for Carbon with an incredible seven kills during the match against the Wasps.
The girls will be playing next on Sept. 8. Carbon will be going up against Park City once again in another away game.
Park City is currently 2-4 overall and doesn't look like it should be difficult for Carbon to beat.
If the past match up proves as a standard, Carbon should have no problem defeating them once again.
The next home game for Carbon will be Sept. 20 at 5:15 p.m. against Delta.
