County considers renaming local airport

Carbon County Airport signs could undergo a change in the future. Last month, the commission received a request from the family of the late Buck Davis to rename the facility in honor of the former airport manager. Commissioner Bill Krompel pointed out last week that the airport serves an area larger than the county and it may be appropriate to designate it as a regional facility. Commissioner Steve Burge noted that Krompel and Davis have been instrumental in the development of the airport. Burge suggested that the county consider calling the facility the Davis-Krompel Field.
