Extremely dry, drought conditions fuel grass fires in valley

A brush fire near 100 North in Price last Friday serves as a reminder that the Carbon County area is entering into a potential drought year. Brush fires rapidly spread because of extremely dry conditions and Castle Valley residents should exercise caution at all times when burning outdoors. Common habits like throwing cigarette butts outside motor vehicle windows are extremely dangerous acts during drought seasons.
