Time is running out to sign up for youth tackle football in the Castle Valley. Carbon County Recreation is currently taking registrations for the youth tackle football league.

CCR took over the community ran league last year which resulted in the leagues largest participation ever. This year they are hoping to improve on last years numbers with the expansion of a team from East Carbon in addition to one team in Wellington and Helper and three teams in Price.

Children who are in grades fifth through seventh are eligible to play. The fee is $85 per child. Returning players will remain on the same team that they were on last year. New children who register and live in Helper and Wellington can play for their respective teams. New Price registrations will be put into a draft pool and drafted among the three Price teams.

Volunteer coaches are needed. Anyone interested in coaching youth tackle football can fill out a volunteer coaching application at the recreation office. Then a recreation committee will review the applications and the top coaches will be awarded the head coaching positions.

For more information about youth tackle football or any recreation program contact Carbon County Recreation at 637-5092, or log on at www.carbonrec.com.
