Deep streams leave travelers stranded in high waters

An occupant of this SUV leans over the back of the vehicle to remove the receiver so a pickup truck can push the vehicle up onto dry ground after it was stranded in the high water of a creek. Officials warn back country travelers that streams are still very high and that in some cases the water may well be deeper than it seems. In some cases, the water is swift too and can actually push a vehicle over in certain situations. The best advice is to cross only streams that are familiar and to not tackle those that are unknown to a driver.
