Emergency crews cut the roof from a Toyota in an attempt to rescue the driver trapped inside after a collision on U.S. Highway 6 Monday around noon. The driver was reportedly traveling eastbound on U.S. 6 at Exit 240 when the vehicle veered across the median. The car crossed westbound lanes of traffic before careening off the embankment of the westbound on-ramp. The car then reportedly hit the driver side of a semi truck on the on-ramp and was launched into the air, landing on the flatbed trailer behind the semi. Witnesses said the car skidded along the length of the trailer before landing on the edge of the on-ramp on the car's driver side roof. The driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, was taken to Castleview Hospital for treatment where she later passed away.
