Jerald Bergera

HELPER/SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Jerald J. Bergera, MD., of Scottsdale, Ariz., passed away on May 24, 2005, at the age of 72.

He was born to James Joseph and Grace Hreinson Bergera on March 3, 1933 in Helper, and married his wife Anne Burmester in 1956.

Jerry studied pre-med at Stanford University and graduated in 1958 from the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He was board-certified and practiced plastic and reconstructive surgery in Ogden, for 29 years. He retired from practice on November 1, 1993, and moved to Arizona. He was an active member of his community and was a past president of the Rotary Club of Ogden and a current member of the Rotary Club of Scottsdale, past president of the Stanford Club of Utah and current member of the Phoenix Stanford Chapter, and past chairman Ambassador Committee Ogden Area Chamber of Commerce. Jerry was on the board of directors for the American Red Cross (Bonneville Chapter), March of Dimes (Weber County), Ogden Area Chamber of Commerce, Eccles Community Art Center, and the Saint Benedict's Hospital Foundation. He was also an active member of the Mountain View Presbyterian Church.

Jerald is survived by wife, Anne; son, James Joseph and wife, Alice Cho; brother, Clifford, and wife, Janet Bergera; and one grandson, Luc.

Memorial Service was Wednesday, June 1, 7 p.m., at Mountain View Presbyterian Church, 8050 E. Mountain View Rd., Scottsdale. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, 6135 N. Black Canyon Hwy., Phoenix, AZ 85015 or charity of choice. Arrangements by Messinger Indian School Mortuary.


Kelly Thorderson

Our little brother quietly returned to his family in Heaven on June 4, 2005.

He was born Sept. 21, 1958, to Julius S. Thorderson and Vera Valene Cowley, the last of their five children.

Kelly spent much of his adult life with the TKJ program and worked in the Castle Valley Sheltered Workshop. Kelly will be missed by all his friends there.

Surviving are sisters, Julene Thorderson of Price; sister, Carol (Dennis) Hartmann of Ogden; brother, David Thorderson of American Fork; nieces, Liberty (Layne) Minor, Autumn (Michael) Green and Shamara Hartmann; nephew, Cody Hartmann; and grandniece, Hannah Green. Preceded in death by parents; and brother, John Thorderson.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 7, 11 a.m., at Fausett Mortuary in Price where friends may call one hour prior to the service for a viewing. Burial, Cleveland Cemetery.
