East Carbon youth volunteer time each Thursday afternoon, to help organize the new ABC Learning Center, located in the old senior citizen center. As part of the project, teens like Primrose Chadick catalog books that have been donated to the center.

Although the center is in it's early stages of opening, books, computers, puzzles and various other learning supplies are located at the center for public use. As the center becomes more established, the center plans on offering computer courses, sign language classes, and story telling events. The center is also working towards beginning a math camp for this summer and a literacy project. Currently, local school students are eligible for tutoring from volunteers at the center. Anyone interested in donating supplies or those interested in upcoming activities are encouraged to call or stop by the center.
