Optometrist Barry Cook of Price examines a five-year-old child in a recent volunteer clinic in Guatamala city, Guatamala. Cook and his wife, Julee Cook, have just returned from their 12th Volunteer Optometric Service to Humanity, Utah Chapter, mercy mission. The mission was in Guatamala this year. The volunteer group consisted of six optometric physicians, dispensing opticians, office staff members and translators who provided free vision care services to the poverty stricken citizens of a small village outside of Guatamala City named Palencia. The team was able to remove foreign bodies from the eyes of several migrant workers as well as provide eye evaluations and donated glasses from Utah. Cook has worked with several local prospective eagle scouts who were working on their Eagle projects.
