Brody Talbot

ELMO/SPANISH FORK - Brody LeRoy Talbot, 32 of Elmo and Spanish Fork, died March 21, 2005 at his home in Elmo.

Born Dec. 22, 1972, he is the son of Arlynn and Jeanette Talbot of Spanish Fork; and Darla Butler of Spanish Fork. He married Valerie Holm Aug. 14, 1992. They have two children: Kiley, 9, and Devin, 6.

Brody enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. He was seldom seen without his camouflage.

He moved to Elmo in 2003 to be closer to his grandma, Jessie May Winder, who raised him as a child. He loved being able to help her with the cows.

Living in Elmo gave him even more time to hunt and be with his family.

Survivors include wife, Valerie Talbot; children, Kiley and Devin Talbot of Elmo; parents, Arlynn and Jeannette Talbot of Spanish Fork; Darls Butler of Spanish Fork; in-laws, Clarence "Butch" and Darlene Home of Palmyra; siblings, Sherland Talbot and Shelley Talbot of Spanish Fork; Chris Haney of Salt Lake City; Tina and Russ Herbert of Nephi; Deone and Travis Wall of Santaquin; Justin and Jana Holm of Mapleton; Carrie and Adam Dalley of Springville; grandparents, Jessie May and the late Floyd Winder of Elmo; Basil and Geri Talbot of Benjamin; George and Lois Haney of Salem; AnnaDell and the late Clarence "Bud" Holm od Spanish Fork; Ted and the late DoraJean Anderson, of Provo; seven nephews and five nieces. He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Floyd LeRoy Winder; stepfather, Randy (Shorty) Butler; grandmother, Barbara Haney; and grandmother, DoraJean Anderson. He will be missed by that knew him.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 25, 11 a.m., at the Benjamin LDS Ward Chapel, 3278 West 7300 South. Friends and family may call Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Walker Family Mortuary, 187 S. Main, Spanish Fork, and on Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Interment, Benjamin Cemetery.

Joe Martinez

EAST CARBON/ORANGE, Calif. - Our beloved dad, Joe Camillo Martinez, age 85, passed away March 18, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital, Orange, Calif.

Born Aug. 22, 1919 in Trinidad, Colo., to Venediano and Hillaria Trujillo Martinez. He married Margaret Mary Martinez on Jan. 27, 1945 in Dragerton. She passed away Feb. 3, 2005.

He served in the U.S. Army during World Ward II in the Pacific. Honorably discharged Oct. 23, 1943, a very proud vet.

Retired UMWA Kaiser Steel Local 9958.

Survived by three daughters, Gloria (Jun) Sasaki, San Jose, Calif.; Corrina (Eddie) Doporto, Sunnyside; Sandra (Khalid) Sheikh, Price; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Armando (Shirley) Martinez, Leadville, Colo.; five sisters, Rose Romero, Rosabel (Manuel) Corrales, Vadito, N.M.; Mary Romero, Martha Romero, Santa Fe, N.M.; and Lillie Vasquez, Albuquerque, N.M. Preceded in death by parents; son, Kenneth; four brothers, Alfredo, Max, David, Arthur Martinez; and one sister, Esther Gonzales.

Memorial Mass Thursday, March 31, noon, Notre Dame Catholic Church, Price. Committal service, Price City Cemetery, Price.

Anna Johnson

EAST CARBON - Anna Johnson, age 92, passed away March 23, 2005, in Price.

She was born July 12, 1912 in Fairview to Lyman Ray and Anna Dora Christensen Cox. She married Eldred Allen Johnson May 9, 1931, later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.

Fern loved and excelled at all kinds of crafts, crocheting, quilting, cake decorating, ceramics, doll making and painting. She designed and sewed school clothes, dance and Halloween costumes. She and her family spent many happy camping experiences in Huntington Canyon. Her family was her most cherished possession.

She is survived by children, and their spouses, Joyce Jones of East Carbon; Remona and Joe Amar of Oregon; LaRay and Ted Chidester of East Carbon; Hal E. and Kolleen Johnson of Joe's Valley; Barry J. and Louise Johnson of Cedar City; 35 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren and 41 great-great-grandchildren with three more on the way, Also survived by brothers, Clyde Ray Cox, Loyal Cox; sisters, Opal Webb and Myrle Elwood. Preceded in death by husband, Eldred; grandson, Gale Allen Jones; great-grandson, Tyler Dee Christiansen; brother, Dean Cox; and sister, June Pollett.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 28, 11 a.m., at the East Carbon LDS Church. Viewing will be Sunday evening from 4 to 6 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary and also one hour prior to services at the church. Burial with a short service will be at the Huntington Cemetery.
