The East Carbon girls basketball teams record dropped to 1-7 in Region 18 play last Thursday night after a loss to the Tintic Lady Miners at home.

The final score was 57-35 and Tintic won out in every quarter but the fourth.

In the first period Tintic took the ball to the hoop a lot and made their shots as they scored 16 to the Lady Vikings 8.

The second period showed little slowing in scoring with Tintic taking a 30-14 lead into the locker room at the half.

The third period was almost a repeat of the first quarter as again Tintic scored 16 and the home team scored 8.

Finally, in the final period of the game East Carbon was able to scratch out a moral victory by out scoring the Lady Miners 13-11.

The Lady Vikings had only one player in double figures in the game; Samantha Madrid was able to score 11. Others who scored included Donna Turner with 8 points, Megan Larson with 6, Jennifer Maestas and Amanda Hepworth with 4 each and Janet Lowe with 2.

The team now faces Green River in a non-league game on Thursday night in the Emery County town.
