Donating locks for cancer patient wigs
Mac McCullough gets his hair cut by Debbie Pagano of the Looking Glass so the Carbon County resident can donate it to make wigs for children with cancer.
The efforts of people across the world to help the victims of the Tsunami in the Indian Ocean are admirable, pointed out McCullough. However, people should never forget that there are numerous children in the United States who may not make the front page of newspapers, but still have diseases requiring chemotherapy. The treatment makes the children's hair fall out.
'They have a hard time understanding that something that makes their hair fall out is making them better,' commented McCullough. "But the lucky ones are the bald ones. Many of the others are told that there is no money for them to have the treatments.'
